My name is Bernice Templeman. Bible study has been a lifelong passion… seeking my heart, love, loving-kindness, truth and righteousness. On this journey you encounter temptations and learn how to triumph. You find cures for the deadly sins.

I am of the “Line of David”, although I am not of Jewish descent. I grew up Catholic and have also attended different churches and synagogues.

Since grade school, I knew that not all the stories in the Bible matched up with history and science. A Nun advised me to believe in God’s creation and work in the Universe, earth, and people. So although History and Archaeology scholars may find evidence that disagree with the history in the Bible, I can still believe in God. I can also find the spiritual truths in the Bible.

I also know that the Bible gives you stories of life and death… you have to chose the ones to focus on. Daily prayer becomes important to keep you the path with God.

In Ancient Egypt, a person was judged when they died, There was a scale, on one side was their heart (conscious) and the other side was a feather (law). You need both. Laws may vary between different cultures just as language, customs, food, clothes, etc.

Babies are a part of God’s kingdom. They also have the ability to choose between right and wrong. Loving kindness and laws exist around the world. There are people around the world who go to heaven and there are some who don’t.

Some people may seem to turn away from God but they still go to heaven. God gives us grace… we don’t have to be perfect. Yet there are still some who don’t go to heaven.

It isn’t eating a certain diet, wearing certain clothes, being of a certain ethnicity or religion. Your heart matters.

My goal is to find the clues in the bible to stay on the righteous path.

Science has found that people learn best in their first language or the language they dream in. Likewise, it may be best to pray in the language you think and dream in.
